Witnesseth. We whose names are hereunder written ….. (amongst others) nominated and appointed for the taxation and collection of the first subsidie of his entire subsidies by the Temporaltie granted to our Sovereign Lord King Charles in the session of Parliament held at the City of Westminster in the fourth year of his highness most gracious reign over England this doth certify unto the right Honourable Lord High Treasurer of England the Lord Chief Barron of his Majesties Court of Exchequer and to the rest of the Barrons, Auditors and officers of the same Court.

And to all other …… whatsoever to whom it may pertayne that Robert Rymell of the tything of Chapmanslade in the hundred of Westbury and County aforesaid yeoman is taxed and assessed before his Majesty in goods for and toward the payment of the said first subsidie whom the tything and hundred aforesaid being the place where he hath been resident and abiding with his knowledge and family by the most part of one whole year next before the said taxation.

In regard whereof the said Robert Rymell is not to be taxed in any other place for that payment but to be discharged according to the form of the statute in that case abideth.

Dated under our hands & seals the …. Day of May in the fourth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King Charles by the grace of God of England, Scotland, France & Ireland Defender of the faith.
